protecting employee's confidentiality

One of the first questions we hear from employees who wish to use EAP services is, "Is it confidential?" At ipm, we know that protecting an employee's confidentiality is of premium importance. We have a network of master's and doctoral level clinicians with convenient locations throughout the United States. Because employees access EAP services at clinician offices off company grounds, they may go to an EAP counselor with the assurance that their privacy will be protected. To preserve an employee's privacy, all client records will be kept at the EAP counselor's office and contents will only be released with the employee's written permission, unless mandated by law.

Common Questions

  1. Will my employer or anyone else at work know that I use the EAP?
No. No one will know without your permission.
  2. What information will the company receive about the EAP?
Ipm will provide each company a quarterly report summarizing how many people use the EAP. No information is provided that could lead to the identification of an employee.
